HOW TO CREATE THE PURPLE HAZE LOOK – WITH KENNETH SOH

October 23, 2020 0 Comments

Purple and gold form a winning combination for dusky shimmery eyes, while a subtle sheen on the lips completes this glowing look

We worked with makeup artist, Kenneth Soh, to bring you this high-impact, high-glamour makeup tutorial. Alongside your base essentials and tools, you can recreate this look, demonstrated on Fatima, with our customisable, sustainable Colour Palette.

THE PURPLE HAZE LOOK

1. Using the PURE PRECISION beauty sponge, buff BEAUTY BOOSTER sheer foundation in maple all over the face.

2. Then blend it all together using the PRECISION FACE brush to create an airbrushed look.

3. Using the PRECISION FACE brush, conceal and perfect the skin using UNDERCOVER cream concealer in clay.

4. Set and perfect the skin with maple MINERAL FOUNDATION using your full coverage KABUKI BRUSH to add extra coverage and a smoother appearance.

5. Apply SILK GEL LINER in brown to the upper lash line – the brown makes for a soft and natural definition, while maintaining the silky precision of a gel.

6. Use the 3in1 EYE BRUSH to smudge this out into the eyelid to provide a base for the eyeshadow.

7. Use the EYE SHADOW brush to blend EYES ON YOU eyeshadow in cinnamon over the entire eyelid.

8. Using the FLAT DETAILING BRUSH, apply EYES ON YOU eyeshadow in galaxy to add a pop of colour to the look.

9. Line the lower lash line using the SILK GEL LINER in brown for a touch more drama.

10. Using the EYE SHADOW brush, smudge EYES ON YOU eyeshadow in cinnamon under the lash line.

11. Use the SMALL DETAILING BRUSH to apply and smudge the top liner to create a less harsh, more naturally defined look.

12. Using the EYE SHADOW brush, make the eyes pop by adding EYES ON YOU eyeshadow in cupuaçu to the inner corners of the eyes.

13. Coat the lashes with the FIXING GEL MASCARA in black to define the eyes and enhance and amplify the lashes.

14. Use the FLAT DETAILING BRUSH to blend out any unblended lines and create a softer definition.

15. Using the 3in1 EYE BRUSH to naturally fill in and define the brows with BROW BOSS powder in carob.

16. Use LINE UP lip pencil in dare (coming soon) to define the lips, then take it over the entire lip to create a base for the lipstick.

17. Apply KISS ME QUICK lipstick in fresh fig all over the lips using the lip brush to enhance the lips.

18. Apply pink champagne LIP GLAZE to the centre of the lips for a natural ombre effect.

19. Using the PRECISION FACE brush, blend BLUSH CRUSH cream coffee cherry onto the apples of the cheeks and temples of the forehead to define the cheeks and warm up the face.

MAKEUP ARTIST TIP

KENNETH SOH SAYS:

Warm, bronze neutral tones are a great pairing with a stronger adventurous colour, such as purple because it makes it more wearable. There are no rules to makeup, but generally I love a feature or colour to take centre stage.
